Sustainable Farming Business Course

A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED AG ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM CUSTOMIZED for LOCAL FARMERS AND AG BUSINESS OWNERS.

THE COURSE, CONSISTING OF 12 3-HOUR SESSIONS, WILL EXAMINE THE CRITICAL COMPONENTS NECESSARY FOR DEVELOPING A COMPREHENSIVE BUSINESS PLAN.

Classes will be held at the WSU Extension 4th floor room #406 located at Norm Dicks Government Center, 345 6th Street in Bremerton, WA.

WHEN:

12-week course starting Wednesday, January 14, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Class will be held weekly.

COST:

$225.00 per individual, family or farm - includes comprehensive reference book and all class handouts.

BACKGROUND

In this multi-session program, farmers will learn to reinvent their agricultural enterprises. Business planning, marketing research and financial management skills are a few of the concrete tools taught by certified business trainers and local experts. Participants will evaluate their business ideas and complete business plans ready for a banker's review.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

The program is designed to help a broad range of small to mid-sized farmers, ranchers, food processors, distributors, retailers, food professionals and others working the agricultural sector. Owners and managers of new and existing businesses are encouraged to participate.
