Clothing and Textile Advisors
CTA volunteers meet monthly to plan programs and events, share knowledge, receive updated training and information, learn about volunteer education opportunities, and generally enjoy the company of other sewing and textile enthusiasts.The CTA volunteer organization meets monthly (except August and December) on the fourth Thursday of the month from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Meetings are held at Island Lake Community Center, Island Lake County Park, (north of Silverdale), unless field trips are scheduled.Anyone interested in the Clothing and Textile Advisor program is welcome to participate in the regularly scheduled organization meetings.
Clothing Textile Advisors are volunteers who educate by providing programs and training including:
- Textiles
- Summer Sewing Camp for Youth
- Fabric care and laundry practices
- Clothing and wardrobe planning: hot to be a savvy consumer
- Home decorating with textiles
- A resource for sewing information
Clothing and Textile Advisors provide education to Kitsap County residents.

Who are Clothing and Textile Advisors?
We are Washington State University trained volunteers who have completed 30+ hours of training in consumer and educational skills, textiles and clothing construction, wardrobe building and budgeting.In exchange for training, we volunteer education to our community under the direction of WSU Extension - Kitsap County.
