Selecting Clothing for Those with Arthritis

Many people who suffer from arthritis feel pain and diminished freedom in the simple daily task of dressing. By making wise choices when selecting clothing, these issues can be limited.

Consider lightweight napped fabric such as fleece or flannel for warmth rather than multiple layers which add weight and more garments to put on each day. Stretchy fabrics such as knits and garment styles with stretch are easier to maneuver, and garments with front closures of hook and loop tape and elastic casings also add to ease of dressing.
