Tribal Law Summit
The Northwest Indian Bar Association and WSU Kitsap Extension were delighted to host the second annual forum last spring about cross-cultural aspects of our interrelated community.
Did you know that 37 of Washington's 39 counties have an Indian reservation within their boundaries? Kitsap County is home to two tribes, the Suquamish and the Port Gamble S'Klallam. Through self-governance and progressive ledership, these Tribes are robust governments that take care of their citizens and provide valuable economic engines that benefit all of Kitsap County.
This year's focus was on experiences of the Indian child and family relative to facets of law, counseling and teaching.
If you would like to be notified about next year's summit, please e-mail us.
