We seek creative ways to work with the community to support shoreline stewardship and make strategic stewardship investments.

Education & Outreach

Technical Assistance

We provide education and outreach about shoreline stewardship in many ways and want to support on-going learning about the shoreline and its stewardship. We are happy to respond to your requests and seek to partner with the community to deliver stewardship education and outreach.

What we do for you:

  • Provide information via print, CD, web site, and video;
  • Organize workshops and other events - ideally in partnership with an individual or community group;
  • Meet with individuals, community groups, and agencies about shoreline stewardship;
  • Provide a singe point-of-contact to coordinate services from many organizations and agencies;
  • Respond to special request.

We provide technical assistance to individuals, community organizations, and agencies interested and engaged in shoreline stewardship activities as well as those interested in better integration of stewardship into their shoreline development projects.

What we do for you:

  • Provide technical information about best management practices, alternative design, the shoreline environment, and specific natural resources relative to your project;
  • Assist you on your shoreline restoration, enhancement, and conservation projects;
  • Provide a single point0of-contact to coordinate services from many organizations and agencies;
  • Respond to special requests.
Financial Assistance

Partnerships

We provide many financial assistance services to help individuals, community groups, and agencies implement shoreline stewardship projects.

What we do for you:

  • Manage an annual mini-grant program with a typical grant being $5,000;
  • Assist with identifying potential funding sources and preparing proposals and applications;
  • Provide a single point-of-contact to coordinate services from many organizations and agencies; Respond to special requests.

 

On a case-by-case basis, we will enter into partnerships with individuals, community groups, and agencies to develop and implement shoreline stewardship projects. Typically, partnerships are necessary to fund, design, and implement large stewardship projects, including restoration, enhancement, and conservation projects.
