Sea Grant Washington
The Washington Sea Grant Program encourages the understanding, use and conservation of marine resources and the marine environment through research, education, outreach and technology transfer.
Based at the University of Washington, the program involves interaction, communications and partnerships with other educational institutions, industry, government and the public. In support of this mission, Marine Advisory Services (MAS) offices and staff provide university resources and technical information that are needed to make wise decisions -- decisions that solve local, regional, and national problems, and that bring economic and social benefits to people. MAS offices are located in Bremerton, Bellingham, Seattle, Shelton and South Bend.

Regional Water Quality Education Program
The Washington Sea Grant office in Kitsap County, located at the WSU Extension office in Bremerton, is part of the Regional Water Quality Education Program funded by the Washington State Legislature. Sea Grant staff work in conjunction with water quality agents employed by Washington State University Extension. This water quality team conducts educational programs and provides assistance to residents and groups primarily within a five county area (Kitsap, Jefferson, Mason, Pierce and Thurston counties) encompassing the southern and western shorelines of Puget Sound, as well as Hood Canal.
